Trsteno & Ston Oysterbeds
- half day

Trsteno can be described as a successful attempt to fit natural characteristics together in order to achieve perfect harmony between man and nature.
This village is famous for the two gigantic plane trees, both over 500 years old which are a part of the oldest botanical garden in Croatia - the Arboretum.
Founded in the late 15th century, as a summer residence of the Gucetic family, it presents the finest example of the Croatian landscape architecture.
In the times of the Dubrovnik Republic, Ston was the second most important town. Its wealth was derived from the salt production, which continues to exist through centuries. Although renowned for the spectacular city walls that are considered to be the second longest in the world, this region is predominantly known as the "oyster capital" of Croatia.
Join our hosts for a boat ride among the oyster beds and find out how oysters are cultivated.

New - Cooking Class in Dubrovnik

Peka lesson with Florio at OPG Vukojević

Peka is one of the best known traditional Croatian dishes. Though simple at first glance, Peka requires a great deal of skill and experience. Gourmands regard food prepared under a peka as the ultimate in grilled dishes.

At first glance, a peka seems like such a simple accessory - a domed lid shaped like a cupola. It can be made of metal, thinner or thicker, or even of cast iron, but true connoisseurs prefer an earthenware peka.

Food cooked under peka, be it in a fireproof pot under the coals or directly on a stone slab, is a hearty meat and vegetable dish. Usually veal, lamb or yearling beef covered with potatoes and other vegetables.

And of course, best enjoyed with a fantastic local red wine !

The program is offered in OPG Vukojević at Village Mokošica and starts when our guide picks you up at your hotel or private apartment.

This program has been described, by our clients, as one of the most authentic culinary experiences in Europe!

The number of participants is limited to 8 pax

The cost includes: collection from your hotel, villa or private apartment by our English-speaking driver, comfortable sedan car of van, peka lesson lunch or dinner the authentic tavern OPG Vukojevic,
wine included, all taxes and VAT .
